Wall Sculpture
Creating sculptures really gives me the opportunity to experiment in a ‘hands on’ kind of way. Never happier than when I’ve got my hammer and pins to hand along with a new box of Driftwood.
For these pieces I use the wood that is collected by Frank and Sandra from the West Coast of America. They’ve been collecting for me for eight years now and have become very dear friends. Everything that I pay them goes directly to their favourite charity. Nice people.
I never know when one of these boxes of treasure might turn up though so it also makes it very exciting, and rare.
I’m delighted with my new collage panels, inlaid with shells and porcelain roses, and am waiting for the opportunity to transform an entire wall with it.
My more traditional nautical pieces all have characters of their own and are named accordingly. If you have a favourite name or nickname for someone this can be used, it just makes it more personal. It’s like creating a new family member sometimes !
I am always happy to discuss ideas so if you would like a special piece made please contact me. My smallest pieces are 50cm so that we don't loose too much detail.
